If you’ve got a compartment in 12th CBSE mathematics, you have two options either appear for the compartment exam next year or switch to NIOS for that one subject.

If you’re okay with waiting a few months, the best option is to appear for the CBSE compartment exam itself. That way, your main 12th board remains from CBSE, which is widely accepted and smooth when applying for higher studies. You’ll also be eligible to join most mainstream colleges once you pass the subject.

On the other hand, if you’ve faced repeated backlogs or feel that CBSE’s pattern is not helping you, NIOS can be a fresh option. NIOS is recognized and allows you to appear for the subject at your own pace. But, note that some universities may require clarification if you appear from two different boards.

Thank you!

For DDU Gorakhpur’s B.Sc. Mathematics admission is primarily based on merit from the 12th-grade board exams (minimum roughly 40–45 aggregate needed), and seats are also allocated through the university’s entrance test rankings.

candidates who score comfortably above 45 in Class 12 and perform well in the entrance exam often placing within the top few hundred ranks of the test stand a strong chance of securing a spot in the main campus program

Hello,

As you've passed your Class 12 with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and now want to add Mathematics, you will likely have to appear for it separately either via NIOS  or as an additional subject from your board.

Having two separate marksheets isn’t necessarily a problem, as long as both are valid, recognized, and issued by proper boards. However, some universities or admission portals may require clarification or affidavits if marksheets come from two different exam sessions. The key is transparency declare clearly in applications that you added maths as an additional subject after your regular 12th.

Also, adding Math can open more career paths like engineering, data science, or even economics. Just be prepared to explain the reason for two mark sheets during counselling, and you’ll be fine.

Best of luck!

Hello Ashish

According to your qualifications, MSC Mathematics would be the better course for you as you have already done a related course on Mathematics in B.Ed.

But I will still suggest go for that subject which you are interested in. If you are interested in Maths, then go for Maths. If in Physics, then go for Physics.

The choice is all yours.

Thank You!!!
